From Darwin to Melbourne (Dec. 94)
At my first trip through Australia I shot hundreds of photos. I crossed
Australia from Darwin to Melbourne and visited Sydney too. So here are
some of the photos summarizing so many sights, different countrysides,
beautiful animals and experiences. I've sorted the pictures by
locations in five main clusters. Here is Sydney
- uncrowned capital -, the place were I first touched Oz, followed by
the Northern Territory, the place I love most
Down Under and the northern part of Western Australia.
I continued my journey in South Australia and
ended it in Victoria & Melbourne (BTW: you
own the best botanic garden I've every seen).
Back down under again, we arrived in Sydney
and enjoyed the City for a couple of days. Then we left north to The Entrance. We turned back south, through the Blue Mountains to Canberra. We crossed Kosciusko N.P. and headed south to Phillip Island. Then took the ferrie to Queenscliff and drove to Port Campell. We turned
back to Melbourne for a short visit. After a
flight to Perth we drove north alone the coast
up to Kalbarri, Monkey Mia
and Coral Bay and visited beautiful beaches, dolphines,... We turned
back and go back to Perth, Fremantle
and Bunburry.
Darwin to Cairns (Aug. 02)
And again we started our Journey in Sydney.
After a jump to Darwin we visited the Litchfield
and the Kakadu N.P.. Turning south we first reached Katherine Gorge and did lots of k's before we
arrived in Mount Isa. Driving further east we found the ocean again
near Rockhampton. We spent two days at Airlie
Beach and visited the Whitsunday Islands.
North of Cairns we found the Daintree N.P. and
the Tableland surrounding Cairns.
Seven years later ... the entire northern part of New Zealand should be analysed. Using Auckland
as starting point we traveled north in the beginning and inspected the Bay of Islands first. Then the
northern tip of New Zealand - Cape Reinga - was explored, before the Kauri forrests
and some nice beaches were visited. Southeast of auckland we spent some days at the Coromandel Peninsula
and then a day at the White Island Volcano. Further south the route guide us first to
Napier and then to Taupo. We finished our journey this time in Rotorua.
Murray River to Sunshine Coast (Feb. 15)
Entering Australia in Adelaide this time, we followed the Murray River upstreams to the Alpine Region.
Crossing the Kosciusko National Park, visited Canberrra we reached the Blue Mountains and Sydney.
We turned north, through the Hunter Valley and across the Great Dividing Ranch back to the Coast. We enjoyed the Goldcoast and as we reached the
Sunshine Coast a category 5 cyclone showed up and forced us to turn inland for 500km. So we did a four day detour before we reached the coast again. Finally we ended up in Brisbane were we spent the last few days.
Northern Territory Adventure (Summer 17)
After 23 years I'm coming back to tour the Northern Territory from Darwin down to Uluru. But frist of all I spent some days in Melbourne
Kimberley Adventure (???)
Next time the wild Northeast (WA and NT) will be explored - there is still so much to see!
